Dragon's Nest Resort, PUNAKHA

The Dragon’s Nest Resort is located 15 Kms South of Punakha Dzong and 45 Kms from Phobjikha, the valley of the black necked cranes. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Puna Tsang Chu River in Wangdiphodrang, just 3 Kms from the Wangdiphodrang Dzong and town. Its convenient location, and the many interesting villages, monasteries, waterfalls and hot springs located within hiking distance, makes the hotel a base to explore surroundings for tourists and a weekend getaway for residences of Thimphu.

The hotel was opened in 1998 and in 2007, the hotel was completely refurbished. All 18 rooms (deluxe and standard rooms) are well-equipped, including in-room amenities such as en-suite bathrooms, cable TV, and tea/coffer making facilities, thus making your stay at Dragon’s Nest comfortable and pleasant. Each rooms also has a balcony with a breathtaking view of the river, the village and the beautiful Wangdiphodrang Dzong.

The dining area is kept very simple, yet it serves delicious Bhutanese, Chinese and Indian cuisine. Savor the delicious food with the splendid view of the Wangdiphodrang Dzong in the distance. Our very small business center offers internet and fax services. Wi-fi service will also be available throughout the hotel soon.
