    Uma Resort is located in the pine forest, high on the hill above the airport in a 38-acre lot. Uma tastefully combines traditional Bhutanese architecture with modern amenities to create the best hotel in Paro. The fusion of clean-lined modernism with indigenous detailing – including carved wooden windows and intricate doors – makes for a fresh aesthetic that recognizes Uhma Paro’s rich cultural context. At the same time, the design maximizes comfort with sleekly efficient amenities.
    There are 20 rooms and 9 villas (including one two-bedroom villa), fashioned by traditionally trained Bhutanese artisans alongside International Designers
    The hotel has received several international awards including Robb Report's "The World's 100 Ultimate Escapes 2007" and TTG's Best New Resort Hotel (Non-Beach).
    Facilities include four in-house treatment rooms, two hot-stone bath house and a private treatment room in each one of the nine villas. There are separate male and female steam rooms, a hot stone bath house and 46 square metre indoor pool with outdoor sundeck. There is also a gym, and a yoga studio overlooking the Paro Valley. Bukhari restaurant serves Cuisines that are modern, light and respectful of local nuances. Menus revive traditional Bhutanese offerings. The foodstuff is largely organic, grown in the surrounding valleys. Other local produce includes hand-churned butter, hand-moulded farm cheese, apple vinegar, and honey sourced from hives in the wildflower-strewn Bumthang Valley, wild mushrooms and popular local red rice. Uma Paro Bar is a relaxing environment and offers light meals and snacks.

    Superior doubles are the cheapest with 25 square meters room, featuring large, oversized bathrooms and separate showers, DVD players, heated towel racks, mini bars and in-room yoga mats. Deluxe doubles have the same facilities as superior, but are larger at 32 square metres with views of Paro. Suites have separate sitting, dining and study areas. One-bedroom villas are outside cottages with private spa and courtyard Two-bedroom villa has all this plus an even greater privilege of space (300 square metres) and endless views. All Villas have private butler service.
